Challenges in diagnosis and management of uUTI episodes caused by antibotic resistant pathogens, including those with a history of recurrence

In this podcast we explore the challenges surrounding the diagnosis and management of resistant pathogens which cause urinary tract infections (UTIs) and recurrent UTIs in an era of increasing awareness surrounding antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our faculty will answer questions and engage in discussions based on their extensive clinical experience.

These discussions will be focussed around the following questions:

  • When and why did you become interested in the treatment of patients with UTI?
  • Has the number of patients you see with antibiotic resistant pathogens increased since you started in clinical practice?
  • If you have a patient with a suspected AMR, how does your clinical practice change?
  • How would you inform a patient if you think they are at risk of AMR, when you treat them empirically, what advice do you give them?
  • From your perspective, what future developments would improve the management of uUTI for patients?
